You should start charging them $1 for the installation. Consider that as a token of appreciation or just save up for your future experience. :bleh:

Anyway, my experience is that if you intend to stick it on your door itself, try not to stretch it. The rubber strip is elastic but not the sticking tape behind. Part of my lining came off and I need to patch it up with the leftovers.

I am still waiting to do the wheel arc... when you free? can "experiment" again.  :D

:D Part of the fun from DIY comes from doing it ourselves, thats what I believe.

Think we might be helping ken do his car up in Jan, maybe can do the wheel arc as well, join us then?  :D

If timing permits, will definitely be there to see the famous Ken in person and also his white car.  :D

Totally agree with Corgan! The feeling is totally different when you DIY the thing by yourself. This simple DIY only took me about 30min (cos I slowly do and TCSS along the way) so no sweat! It feels damn rewarding when everything is completed and you enjoy the end product...  :D

Hey everybody. I was at Autobacs 2 days ago and saw that it is also selling some DIY Soundproofing tapes. I bought a roll of 1cm-width type for about $12.90. It is of 73ft! which is more than 20m long. But the material seems to be of different type as bro Corgan got. After installing in my car, I would say wind sound is reduced when travelling on expressway but road noise  seems to have become more prominent (accetuated by absence of wind sound?).

Any bro/sis who has missed out bro Corgan's MO for the tape can try that if you are not patient enough to wait. The tape is designed for car door soundproofing as put on the product cover. Autobacs is located at Bukit Batok ave 6. It is also having 15% discount on car grooming products now.

Hey Bro, thanks for your FR on the autobacs door lining. Its the hard type of door lining right? Meaning to say its like hard compressed rubber, and not like sponge right? Wind sound is reduced but road noise louder? Doesn't sounds right to me. Maybe you see if it improves over time and update us again ya?

For the one that I'm using (got it from Corgan), both wind noise and road noise are reduced significantly. It gets better after a while and now I'm fully enjoying it cos the rubber season liao, so door closing seems to be back to normal. If the louder road noise persist, think maybe you should try using the door lining from Corgan. Cheaper by $2.90, can eat a plate of carrot cake and one milo liao, haha...  :D

wah. 73ft!  :D thats a lot of lining. Anyway, when u referred to road noise, i take it as the noise coming from the tyres and undercarriage rite? I believe it sounds more prominent because after the wind noise is reduced, the other major source of noise is road noise and hence you are more likely to pay attention to it now than before, just like you said.  :D but unless we SP the floorpan and the wheel arcs, we just have to live with it.
