Milege only 300km nia...but latio move very slow. HELP!
« on: March 23, 2008, 10:06:43 PM »
hi guys... I was bullied by a Honda Civic Type R at Marine Parade road! It was swerving in n out of my lane! anyway, when i was travelling at 90km... i felt it was like travelling at 70-80km... was it bcos my latio not seasoned yet? i used to drive a manual Opel van and the speed of my van was faster than my latio...i simply haul the road and all cars overtake me on my left n right.  :crycry:

hi!

no need care about other driver lah. if ur speedo show 90 km/h the the road limit is 90 then it is ok lor. most importantly is ur own safety. if u feel that u r hogging the road, just move to the left lane and let ohers overtake lor. nothing to lose, rite ;)

IMO, if you travel at 90km/hr but feel like 70-80 km/hr, it is a good thing, right?  This means that you feel the stability of the car as compared to your previous one.  It is better than you travel at 90 km/hr but feel like you are going much faster.   Since you mentioned that other cars overtake you from left and right, this means that you are at the second lane.  I don't see anything wrong with travelling at the speed limit in the second lane.  You are not hogging as others can (rightfully) overtake you on the right.  No worry la.  When people see new car number plate, they also know it is run-in period.

Even on CVT, at yr rpm meter you shld be doing 2x1000, that shld gt you to even 100km/hr. CVT moving off might not have the burst power but it require very little effort from 60 to 100km/hr and at times I don't even felt hat I hit 100 or even 110km/hr.

How many more life line you left for your COE bidding?

During your run-in period, going at 2K rpm is perfectly fine... and for CVT 2K rpm shld get abt 90-100km/hr.  This shld give u a very comfortable cruising speed on the expressway.  With regards to road hogging, this depends on the road situation.  But if you feel that u are going too slow, then simply move to Lane 2 (at least) so that other faster moving vehicles can overtake u safely on the right.  But if you are really going a very slow speed, then it'll be best if you move to lane 3...  ::)

Sometimes other drivers overtake you on the left is a very good indictator for you to change to a slower moving lane.  Courtesy goes both ways, if you dont want to be offended by others, then take the first move - go to Lane 3 or even Lane 4 if necessary.  Cos you are are hogging onto Lane 1, the only thing you'll get will be High-beam or honking...  :D

Experienced many times, drivers going at 60++km/hr on Lane 2 also...  :glare: :glare: :glare:

dun regret

space wise latio wins over swift liao....
interior also....

speed... depends on individual la....
but after run in period... my latio was much smoother....
have to let your latio slowly learn your driving pattern.... then will be better after run-in........

i feel that our latio engine is not too bad.. just tat the gear box is very laggy.. constantly searching for the right gear.. whenever we floor the acc the torque all stuck at the torque converter and not transmitted to the wheels..  i might be wrong but anyone feels the same way too?> :)

Our Latio not really meant for cheong one. Take it easy then slowly you will find the pros of our Latio. Make full use of its pros and avoid (tolerance) its cons. Most important is drive safely when on the road.

but as wave has mentioned, the space is something that'll be winning over... and that's one of the selling point and why I chose latio too... :)

oh... btw, how much did you "pay" for your latio?... maybe they looking at bidding for those who pay more, they should be having a certain profit margin to mention...

usually they'll go in around the last hour or so...

got mine in the first bid , maybe because my price is not too fantastic...?

can imagine your feeling for the COE, esp for four times already. I too was so "excited" waiting for my COE bidding last time... even more then my getting of school results last time...

Actually our latio can be surprising powerful.. went KL and genting last week so get to experience Full latio power

high way to KL ( 3 people + luagage) - my speed 120 - 130, car stable can accelerate to 140 easily.

up genting - off aircon + OD mode, comfortable ride up, no scare no power

back to singapore (my uncle drive) speed - ave 140 - 150, occassional 160 when down slope. car ok, but can feel car start to float abit at 160.. :devil2: :devil2: :devil2:
