Which mileage is consider run-in period?

The first 1600km or 1000 miles as stated in your manual.  :D

hi there,

try to find a lighter than stock weight rim and it should be fine.

While size of rims does play a part in FC, but weight, driving style and driving routes does play a big part as well.

Cheers! Hav fun rim shopping!

anyway, rims brand isn't important, right? most important is the tyres? what brand wont be so slippery? last time i heard yokohama is bad? any recommendation?

tyres are the only thing in contact with the road, not the rims  ;D

every brand has a range of tyres, its rather impossible to have a tyre which is super quiet, super good wet grip, F1 dry grip, super comfortable and yet super stable at corners. Hence, what is important is to search for info on the model of tyre rather than just brand alone.

Thanks Jazz, haven't collect my ride yet so have no idea. Within run-in period, speed should not exceed 80km/h?  :confused1:

Well, I have read many articles about run in period. Focus on your RPM instead of speedometer. Many have their own views regarding this run in period thing, but most commonly people will tell you try not to exceed 2500rpm and hard braking.  ;)

But I did whack up to 4000rpm unintentionally during my run in period when I try to over take.

guys, dont forget when u change rims and tyre sizes your car measure mileage differently... and that will result in inaccurate FC reading. u have to compensate the gain/loss in mileage

some bros here posted the site to calculate, dunno go where liao

When I bought my first car abt 3 yrs ago...no one told me tat I should not wack the rpm to above 2500....so within 1st week of car collection....i wack it above 4000rpm....then when the car is abt 8 mth old....i drove it to malacca....then...the car feels kind of ko yak after tat....nowadays....i dun drive my new car to malaysia again....i think some car can't take long distance drive....

What about those who buy test drive car?

Even worse.

Already red lined countless times from the start for at least 1,000km before it is sold at a $1,000 discount.

Just have to make sure that the leather seats are thoroughly cleaned.

The beige seats I saw in the Bt Timah branch showroom Latio had turned brown and had a slimy shine on it.

And if necessary, get  Tan Chong to re-upholstery the seats as the sides of the seats tend to be flat as a result of many people getting in and out of the car.

Arghh... how you get your car so early? I'm still waiting for mine. SE says Tan Chong say that the PDI (whatever that is) is on 5th oct. Sigh, after that I still need to wait for LTA inspection of the OPC plate. I also bought the same car and color as you.  :(
