Autosaver is following the nissan owner manual... so everything that TCM checks, AS will check also... you can see the checklist from here:

http://www.autosaver.com.sg/nissan.html

Dunno what engine oil they are using, and as bro HM76 suggested, they might be using Rev-1. You should really call them up again and check what oil they are using and if they have other brands of EO.

PS. Paiseh ah... gave you the wrong price in the previous post... it should be $98 before 7% gst instead of $115.... saw wrongly...

Hi NotYetz

Sorry for late reply.

Not sure Amsoil is good? or just use their REV-1?

No problem for the pricing... is abt + - , so no issue.

Thanks.

Regards.

like what carmod said in another post, lighter rim ; cotton filter ; spark bridge for low end.

had that problem before, solved it with some spark VS. Dun need to change spark plug before it due.

I am on the 50k or 2.5 yr service with TCM
My previous Sunny was serviced in JB after the warranty period
20 minutes tops to change engine oil, oil filter, clean air filter

Only once when the check engine light came on, I got it attended to at a workshop in Sin Ming
Cost me about S$130 to change one of the sensors

Hi all

Just serviced my car at autosaver this morning...

S$98 (lum sum pkg amt) - S$10.5 (less for my own Micro Oil Filter) + S$58.50 (for my Cabin/Aircon Filter)

The bill break down as follows (some items their computer cannot print out, he showed me by showing me his payment program):

1) OIL ENG GOLD F/SYN 5W40 4L, S$45.00
2) YUKI AIR CON FILTER, S$65.00 - S$6.50 discount = S$58.50
     * 10% discount
3) Brake Bulb, S$2.00 (for my rear brake bulb which was not functioning since last week, not FOC hor... need to pay :) )

Vehicle Model: Latio
Current Mileage: 29793
Next Srv Mileage: 39793
Total Amt: S$148.00
GST 7%: S$10.36
Total Amt Due: S$158.36
NETS: S$158.36

Engine Oil is REV 1, with 5W40.

Not too sure REV 1 is good or not.
I asked for Amsoil EO, they said they are not selling that, errrr? I tot someone told me that they have thus I didn't buy my own EO there... hehe but nvm, not so impt. Just trying out REV 1.

After servicing the car, the pickup feel much better than before servicing it. I think it is common after we get our ride serviced with new EO & chg of Oil Filter...

As for the AirCon filter, i am not sure whether it is 'cleaner' (the air) or cooler or not. How to detect? / differentiate?

I have asked them to check my Nitrogen gas for my new 4 GR80 tyres.... I told them i went HTyre to chg all the 4 tyres at S$110 per tyre. They told me their GR80 is selling at S$100/- per tyre.

The mechanics there are Msian also.

Autosaver has a guest room at upstair, with aircon, tv, computer+internet, sofa, got DIY drinks (3-in-1) + cup + sugar.... well, my followers said quite comfortable with it.

But one thing, i asked for the remaining REV 1 EO, they put in a carrier but that carrier is dirty. I returned it back to them and put into my own plastic bag. ^$^ I can sense he sees it aso feel abit paiseh but i am ok lah... not so particular with that... I am sure they may improve on this next time so that they won't feel so embarrassing merely coz of a plastic bag ! :-)

Regards.

Hi guys

One more thing to share with you.

The mechanic showed me the meter measurement on my Battery life, it's left with 52 out of 100 for my battery. He urged me to change, and the price is abt S$120 + - (before 10% discnt). But he also mentioned the battery can still be use. Normally battery can use up to 1 to 2yr depending on case by case basis.

I decided not to change at the moment since it's 52/100, not 88/100. And, the starter of the engine I feel that it's still smooth, there is no 'bad' sign to change the battery yet. So, save abit at the moment. Today already fart out 158$ for the servicing already...

S$98 hahah, end up  + + + + donno what else need to be changed...

Below is what i feels:
1) If i service my car at TCM today, i might have paid > S$200 for the same services rendered & parts changed for me? uagree?
2) If i service my car at Msia (workshops), i might have paid RM200 for that? :) what do u think?

Econ is bad.... must save save....

Thanks for spending time to share experiences & knowledge.

Regards.

Hi all

Two more things to share & discuss.

1) Aircon filter

The mechanic showed me the Aircon filter , to show me how dirty it is, urge me to change, so i asked for the pricing , abt S$60+ (b4 discnt). I think twice, aiya, save trouble, change it now rather than later.

I myself not too sure do i really need to chg the aircon filter or not.

I was wondering Aircon Filter, Air Filter , are they the same? I asked him, he said they are diff.

Oil filter i know, everytime we chg EO, we chg Oil Filter.

2) Test Drive

Ohhh, he test drive my car without asking me to sit into the car ?

iagree, I am on TCM 2 yr service package. The previous service was 40k service. wiper, all oil, air filter, light bulb, belt change all included. nett price, no extra payment. Outside workshop always say they are cheaper but beware of $+++.

TCM package also exclude battery, so have to buy it.

How's your engine bay? did they clean it for you?

Ying,

Overall, the servicing costs outside are still at least 30% cheaper than Tan Chong's, even after including the extra wear and tear items that need to be replaced.
