Most of the COEs will be grabbed by Kah Motors and Borneo Motors.

The total number of Toyotas sold as at Nov 2008 is just 80 cars behind Honda.

I bet there will be very aggressive bidding by Borneo to take top place. Otherwise they may have some answering to do to Toyota's Japan head office.

totally agree that Borneo will do anything to take top place. My bro-in-law who booked his Vios (G) after the COE crash to $2 got his COE on the last round. Moreover, Borneo never even enter bid for him and straight away give him a open-cat COE. Guess what... the open-cat COE is ard $10500 when the Cat A COE is ard $10400. Now is his enjoying his new ride  :cool2: .

I doubt TCM will be so good to give us (booked aft COE $2) this type of offer.

Tan Chong will likely place their bid for you an hour or two before bidding closes on Wednesday.

Did you know that for those who book Altis now, the earliest that they can get their car is March 2009?

Reason?

No COEs to register the cars.

This gives you an idea of how many bookings Borneo Motors have on hand.

Tan Chong will never have the kind of bidding power that Borneo has.

Tats why I feel that those like myself would not get COE unless top up.  :yehyeh:

Not true, cos last round they bid early early and never top up. Got feeling that they will ask all to top up.

dun listen to all t SE asking for top up. jus checked from one-motoring website that the cost price of latio sprt base is ard $36k. so TCM still earn $3K even if they bid the COE at $8k for us on the next rd (i booked at $47K)

it only depend how much profit TCM wan to gain from us  :devil2:

well true but if we don't top up, and by end of 6 rounds of bidding they can simply just return us the deposit..and then sell the car at a much higher price n margin now..esp with the yen appreciation..our current booked stock is the old inventory when the costs werent so high yet..

so it wld make sense for TCM to "let go" of these few low margin deals instead, assuming that they arent hardup for sales numbers..

im quite curious myself too..any old birds here heard of or experienced TCM, or any other ADs request for top ups from customers?

If u guys follow some of the older threads there were cases that only those who top up or booked at higher price got their cars. And most of those got theirs after 6 bids and only after they top up.  :yehyeh:

if a request for top up really comes...then i really wonder why do the ADs even price their vehicles so low whereby they cant confidently secure a COE..

i cant feeling being scammed if that's the case..like..advertise low prices..get all the bookings in...then force the customers to top up, otherwise no cars...

It can happen and it had happened before. So those desperate will top up. If not wait and try again but oso at higher price. Guess most of those waiting had booked the ex-stock YOM 2008. :yehyeh:

I booked a Mazda 3 SP at the lowest offered price after the Category A COE crashed in February 2007 post-Chinese New Year.  MM failed to secure a COE for me and the SE asked me to top up $2K.  I refused and got the deposit back after the 4th and final attempt.

So far, TCM has not failed me yet ... I am driving my second Nissan car with the third one coming in January 2009.

Visit my blog http://SingaporeMotoring.blogspot.com/

Update Dec 16 - I want to clarify that I have bidded for my own COE so TCM was not involved for the third car.

Not like the previous round, where SE bid for me a day before bidding ends. Till now still no bid.

This time think all dealers will last minute rush in and if we didnt get the premium and the bodykit, doubt very much those who booked for the YOM 2008 will get the COE. Dont get me wrong I will prolly be one of those who might not get it this time round.  :yehyeh:

Don't worry.

You will get your COE.

It's only when.

Remember, you have a total of 6 bids to secure your COE, meaning you have till end of Feb 2009.
